2. Types of Manuscripts

Edukimia accepts two types of manuscripts: Original Research Articles and Review Articles.

Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles report findings from original studies in chemistry education. These articles must present a clearly defined research problem, appropriate research methods, reliable findings, and a discussion of their contributions to chemistry education.

Research topics may include curriculum development, teaching and learning models, chemistry learning assessment, educational technology, learning media, and other areas relevant to the journal's focus and scope.

Review Articles

Review Articles critically examine and synthesize published research on topics relevant to chemistry education. They should provide more than a summary of previous studies by identifying research trends, comparing findings, evaluating limitations, and discussing implications for future research.

Review Articles must have a clear objective, a defined scope, and a transparent approach to identifying, selecting, and analyzing relevant literature.

Both Original Research Articles and Review Articles manuscript length is 2500-6000 words, counted from the Introduction to the Conclusion.

3. Manuscript Structure and Content Guidelines

3.1 Title

The manuscript must include titles in Indonesian and English.

The Indonesian title must be concise, clear, informative, and contain no more than 15 words.

The title should accurately represent the main topic of the manuscript and avoid unnecessary abbreviations or general expressions.

3.2 Author Information

5. Publication Ethics and AI Use Policy

The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation is permitted solely to improve language quality and readability. This policy applies only to the writing process and does not cover the use of AI tools for data analysis or interpretation as part of the research methodology. Authors must exercise appropriate human oversight and critically review, verify, and revise all AI-assisted content to ensure its accuracy and reliability.

Authors must declare whether AI tools were used in preparing their manuscripts. If AI was used, the declaration must specify the name of the AI tool, the purpose of its use, and the sections of the manuscript in which AI assistance was provided. This declaration promotes transparency and will be included in the published article.

AI tools cannot be listed as authors or co-authors because authorship requires human accountability. All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the work, approved the final manuscript, and agreed to its submission. Authors retain full responsibility for the originality, accuracy, scientific integrity, and overall content of their manuscripts, including ensuring that the work does not infringe upon third-party rights.

6. Originality and Plagiarism

All submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work and be free from plagiarism, fabricated data, falsified findings, and other forms of academic misconduct. Edukimia requires a Turnitin similarity score of 25% or less; however, meeting this threshold does not automatically guarantee that a manuscript is free from plagiarism. Therefore, the editorial team reserves the right to conduct further assessments when necessary to ensure the originality and academic integrity of submitted manuscripts.

7. Authorship and Author Responsibilities

All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the work and approved the final version of the manuscript. Each author is responsible for ensuring the originality, accuracy, integrity, and scientific quality of the manuscript, as well as confirming that the submitted work does not infringe upon the rights of any third party.

8. Manuscript Assessment Process

Any accepted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two reviewers, plus editorial comments. The author is required to revise the manuscript according to reviewer comments and editors. Editor team will process it for later publication. For peer review process diagrams please go to Peer Review Process page.
